The goal of this course is to give the students a basic background in the world of Mechanical Drafting. The students will review the tools used in basic drafting and the rules of dimensioning. They will learn the basic structure of a building from the foundation to the roof. They will demonstrate the ability to draw Orthographic and Isometric drawings on paper. They will use AutoCAD to draw 2D and 3D plans on the computer and also learn other Autodesk programs to draw 3D models. Students will construct a model of classroom of their choice. Sketches will be transformed to working drawings. They will then take their drawings and animate them to real world situations using Revit. By the time the class is completed, the students should have an understanding of Mechanical drawing and the structure of products. Students will incorporate their blue print skills into designing a projects.
